It was a great pleasure to welcome a well-known Swiss neurologist Prof. Eugen Boltshauser at “Arabkir” JMC.

This was the first visit of the professor to Armenia after the restrictions of Covid-19, and the 22nd during the years of cooperation between the University Children's Hospital of Zurich and "Arabkir" University.

The pediatric neurologists of "Arabkir" JMC and of other medical institutions had preselected all the patients whose cases deserved special attention and discussion. From September 22 to October 2, the professor consulted 35 patients, listened to their parents and treating physicians, expressed his opinion, and, if necessary, took some biomaterials for certain tests in the laboratory of the University Children's Hospital of Zurich

In addition to practical consultations, attended by 40-50 physicians, Professor Bolsthauser arranged MRI-discussions of rare diseases, as well as theoretical training for pediatric neurologists and pediatricians. He presented spectacular clinical cases from his practice, listened to the opinions of his Armenian colleagues, and told about the chosen treatment paths.

Professor Eugen is one of the great advocates for the development of young professionals, who supports their participation in various courses, and membership to EPNS. It should be noted that the department of Neurology and Neurosurgery Service of "Arabkir" JMC is named after Professor Eugen Boltshauser in honor of years of warm cooperation. ️
